Every tourist into Rwanda will be subject to the arrival test and this is done at Kigali International Airport before being transferred to a designated hotel in Kigali for 24hrs quarantine. This short quarantine is to ensure samples collected are tested and results are sent to the guest within 24hrs. Covid results can be tracked online and final results are sent to guest electronically by email or short messaging system. The arrival testing fee is US$ 60.00

I recognize that traveling internationally is not for everyone right now, but for those willing to know and understand the rules, and take the risk, it can be very rewarding. For every passenger who chose to travel to Rwanda, it is mandatory to fill in the passenger locater form-this is where you fill in your travel detail, passport information, Negative Pcr Covid-19 test certificate for a test conducted within 72 hours prior to departure. Once you landed in Rwanda-Kigali, you go straight to a designated Covid testing hotel—Villa Kigali, Kigali Marriott Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, Kigali Serena Hotel, and so on-where another test is administered, and you are required to stay in my room until negative results come through.

Rwanda also has one of the lowest Covid case and death rates in the world—fewer than 5,000 cases and 27 deaths—and was able to reopen for international commercial passengers flights on August 1, it reopened its international airport and, rather than relying on geographical distinctions of who could come to the country, devised a testing scheme for visitors and employees in the tourism business.

Rwanda also requires all visitors to get another Covid test before they leave the country. COVID -19 Departure test ranges between US$ 50.00 to US$ 150.00 depending on where you test from i.e. COVID test centers or from the resorts. Wearing a mask and social distancing is a must. Before entering National Parks, you have to submit a recent Covid negative test, disinfect shoes, and put on park-supplied new surgical masks. Unlike Akagera National Park popular for wildlife safaris in Rwanda, Volcanos National Park, and Nyungwe Forest National Park require you a valid Covid test certificate which has been conducted within 72 hours. The Volcano Park has decreased the size of parties on treks from eight to six persons and increased the distance between each other and the gorillas to 10 meters (it’s normally seven meters or about 23 feet). Rwanda is now open for tourism.
